Cutting Plywood
Tips Index
The following suggestions will help to control chip-out when cutting
plywood:
- Avoid cross-cutting plywood whenever possible.
- Use a plywood cutting blade.
- Position best face down when cutting with a portable circular saw.
- Position best face up when cutting with a table saw or radial arm saw.
- Score the line of cut using a utility knife.
- Score the line of cut by making a light pass with the saw blade.
- Place masking tape over the line to be cut.
- Attach a backing panel using double-sided tape.
- Use a router with a 1/4"" straight bit.
- Invest in a panel-scoring attachment for your table saw.
